Fire emergencies can happen without warning, and knowing how to respond quickly and confidently can make all the difference. On 20 August 2026, EITA staff took part in Basic Occupational Fire Drill Training to strengthen their awareness, practical skills, and readiness to respond effectively during workplace emergencies.

The session began with a briefing covering the fundamentals of fire science, common workplace fire hazards, and the appropriate use of fire extinguishers for different classes of fire. Participants then put their knowledge into practice through a hands-on exercise, extinguishing controlled fires using CO2 and dry powder extinguishers under the guidance of experienced trainers.

Beyond learning the technical aspects of firefighting, the training highlighted the importance of teamwork, situational awareness, and staying calm under pressure—qualities that are essential when responding to an emergency.

We are proud of our team for their enthusiasm and active participation throughout the session. Their commitment reflects EITA’s continued efforts to foster a workplace that prioritises safety, preparedness, and the well-being of our people.
A sincere thank you to the trainers and organisers for conducting an engaging and valuable session. By equipping our people with the right knowledge and skills, we continue to build a safer workplace—prepared, confident, and ready to respond when it matters most.
