On 11 September 2025, EITA Group hosted a special seminar entitled “Rise to Compliance: The Latest on Lift & Escalator Regulations” at its Bukit Raja Headquarters. The event brought together over 70 participants, including industry consultants, contractors, and existing customers, to gain in-depth insights into the evolving landscape of lift and escalator safety regulations in Malaysia.

The seminar provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing between regulators, industry practitioners, and technology providers. A key highlight of the session was the presence of representatives from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH / JKKP), who elaborated on their enforcement role under the Factories and Machinery (Electric Passenger and Goods Lift) Regulations 1970 and related provisions.
During the session, JKKP officers outlined their mandate to ensure full compliance and operational safety of lifts and escalators across Malaysia. They emphasized the importance of periodic inspections, competent personnel certification, and strict adherence to installation and maintenance standards, reaffirming the department’s commitment to safeguarding public safety through proactive enforcement.

EITA’s participation underscored the Group’s alignment with national safety objectives. By facilitating this seminar, EITA reaffirmed its role as an industry leader dedicated not only to engineering excellence but also to supporting regulatory compliance and industry-wide awareness.
The engaging discussions enabled attendees to better understand current regulatory expectations, upcoming compliance requirements, and the critical responsibilities of all stakeholders in ensuring the safe operation of vertical transportation systems.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and seek clarification directly from both JKKP representatives and EITA’s technical experts as well as a tour of the facility and EITA’s famous lift testing tower.

Through initiatives like this, EITA continues to foster stronger collaboration between regulators, industry players, and clients — driving the collective goal of achieving safer, more compliant, and more sustainable lift and escalator systems across Malaysia.
